The Who - Thirty Years Of Maximum R&B:
Album: 30 Years Maximum R&B
LPs (vinyl) Sampled: Not released on vinyl at this time.
CDs Sampled: Polydor (Germany), MCA (USA)
CD Comments: Both Polydor (Germany) and MCA (USA) sound identical.
Summary: Both Polydor (Germany) and MCA (USA) sound excellent. However, I noticed the vocals sounded slightly shrill on the Polydor (Germany) version of "Relay", whereas the MCA (USA) did not.
Other Comments: This is a great box set and a good example of what can be done when all the "parties to be" are working together. Unfortunately there are some examples of bad editing (they cut the best part of the live "Bargain" right out) and endless cross fading, but as a whole, it's a great piece.
Note: The tracks that are unique only to this box set are listed below with a (R).
