Hiding Out / Crashing By Design - Germany - 1986 Atco 2586807 7" 45. Not issued in the USA or UK, but also issued in Spain.
Hiding Out (Extended Version) / Hiding Out (Instrumental Version) / Crashing By Design - Germany - 1986 Atco 2586790 12" 45 (EP). Only issued in Germany.
Unique versions of "Hiding Out", which are very different than the album/"Face The Face" "b" side version (3:01). My first impression of this version was, ...why couldn't the rest of the album sound this good! The 7" is a 4:20 edit of the 12" 5:45. The instrumental version only features opening vocals (a repeat of "hiding out"). Remixed by Chris Lord-Alge. "Crashing By Design" is the White City album version.

Barefootin' was written/released by Robert Parker in 1966. I Put A Spell On You was originally written by Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1956, then covered by fellow Track label associate, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown in 1968. The original 1982 Save It For Later was written/released by The English Beat.

A Friend Is A Friend / Man Machines / Real World (Can You Really Dance?) - UK - July 3, 1989 Virgin VSCDT 1198 3" (Mini) CD Single (EP).
"Man Machines" is the full length (4:29) version (only 0:42 on the Iron Man album). The version included with the single features both Simon & Pete Townshend on vocals. "Real World" has several instrumental versions - this single version (which was also released as a bonus track on the 2006 Iron Man album) and another version (using the title, "Can You Really Dance?") on Scoop 3. However... the song began life as a demo with vocals (listen below).

I Won't Run Anymore / A Fool Says - UK - November 11, 1989 Virgin VS1209 7" 45. Not issued in the USA. A cassette promo was also issued.
I Won't Run Anymore / A Fool Says - UK - November 11, 1989 Virgin VSTG1209 12" 45. Not issued in the USA.
I Won't Run Anymore / A Fool Says / Dig (Demo) - UK - November 11, 1989 Virgin VSCD1209 3" (Mini) CD Single. Not issued in the USA.
The 3" CD Single is the only source for Pete's demo of "Dig". In 2006, reissues of the Iron Man CD have the Simon Townsend vocal version of "Dig" as a bonus track. Simon was originally intended for the released version, but when The Who re-formed to tour in 1989, Pete had them re-record "Dig".

Fire - USA - November, 1989 Atlantic PR29472 CD Single (Promo). Not issued in the UK or commercially.
Fire released in 1968 by The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown was written by Arthur Brown, Vincent Crane, Mike Finesilver and Peter Ker. Pete was looking for a song to complete Iron Man and the <vocal version> of "Real World" wasn't working. Hence, he drew again from the Track Records catalog. I always thought The Who's performance of this song seemed like a caricature of the band.
