Roger Daltrey was quoted, "Uniforms was like all of Quadrophenia in one song." The "b" side, "Dance It Away" is a non-LP track, left over from the All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes sessions. Oddly enough, Dance It Away was recorded by The Who and originally left off of "Face Dances" as well.

The video version of "Slit Skirts" is mono and sped up by 4.5%. It features live vocals and a harmonica section which make it unique.

An interesting combination of tracks... The extended dance mix of "Face The Face" is the same version included with the White City video. "Won't Get Fooled" is from the 1985 Brixton Deep End concert. The alternate version(s) of "Hiding Out" were mixed by Chris Lord-Alge.
