chart performance, the "a" side was replaced on the USA album with "Say It Ain't

Written On The Wind (recorded in 1976, released in 2013) was written by Paul Korda and Dear John (1976) was written by David Courtney.

The "a" side features John Entwistle on bass and Keith Moon on drums. Because of the disappointing sales of the UK single, "Written On The Wind", "Say It Ain't So Joe" replaced the former on the USA album (Holland issued the LP both ways).
Say It Ain't So Joe (1975) was written by Murray Head. "Satin And Lace" was written by David Courtney, Tony Meehan & Roger Daltrey.
