- UK - April 15, 1977 Polydor 2121319 45. Not issued in the USA. Due to its disappointing chart performance, the "a" side was replaced on the USA album with "Say It Ain't So Joe".

Written On The Wind (recorded in 1976, released in 2013) was written by Paul Korda and Dear John (1976) was written by David Courtney.

Single to support Roger's 1977 One Of The Boys album. One Of The Boys (1977) was written by Steve Gibbons. You Put Something Better Inside Me (1973) was written by Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan.

The "a" side features John Entwistle on bass and Keith Moon on drums. Because of the disappointing sales of the UK single, "Written On The Wind", "Say It Ain't So Joe" replaced the former on the USA album (Holland issued the LP both ways).

Say It Ain't So Joe (1975) was written by Murray Head. "Satin And Lace" was written by David Courtney, Tony Meehan & Roger Daltrey.

"Waiting For A Friend" was written by Billy Nicholls and Bitter And Twisted (1980) was written by Steve Swindells.

"Bitter and Twisted" was played extensively by the New York area FM radio stations. It is assumed/rumored that all of the members of The Who played on "Waiting For A Friend".
