   Trains - Home Page

My first ever train engine was a 1957 Lionel 665, which came with the 2277WS set. It was originally my brother's, but he showed little interest in it and I ended up with it years later. Over my childhood years, I traded toys with some of my friends and ended up with a <Lionel> Santa Fe 2383 (F3) Super Chief set and others. When I was 17, I discovered train shows and began collecting with a friend of mine. Several years later, I sold off most of the trains I collected to raise money to buy Who records. Fortunately, I was able to repurchase most of the trains I previously sold and then started to build a collection.

My all-time favorite train, is the GG1. I have them in all scales, but love the G-Scale versions, which I purchased for display purposes.

In the last year, I started collecting Standard Gauge. While I always admired them, they are huge and take up a lot of space! I'll never forget standing on a long line to get into a train show in 1978 and the guy in front of me said, "This is the line for the 400E's for $15!" At the time, I had no idea what a "400E" was and now I have (2) two of them!
