5:15 / I'm One - UK - October 5, 1979 Polydor Who 3 2001916 45.
5:15 / I'm One - USA - October 5, 1979 Polydor PD 2022 45.
"5:15" is the single to support the Quadrophenia movie and soundtrack album. These tracks were remixed/changed from the originals by John Entwistle. MCA records (USA & Canada) was not keen on Polydor releasing another version of their "bread & butter" album. According to engineer Cy Langston (RIP), the entire "Quadrophenia" was remixed in the same fashion. However, in order to get approval from MCA, they had to "scrap" half of it, place the songs "out of order" and mix in other (non-Who) tracks to make it acceptable to MCA. Perhaps one day a "Directors Cut" of John Entwistle's "Quadrophenia" Soundtrack will be released.
