Magic Bus / Someone's Coming - USA - July 27, 1968 Decca 32362 45. Various print styles and (2) two different promos (one with "a" and "b" side, another with double "a" sides). <See above>
Magic Bus / Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde - UK - October 11, 1968 Track 604024 45. 3-Prong and wide hole single versions. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" is the original, "spooky" mix.
Pete Townshend wrote and recorded his demo for "The Magic Bus" in 1965. This was
another song they <thankfully> pulled out to record while the band was consumed
in 1968 recording Tommy.
Until the CD/reissue age, the only source for the stereo version of "Magic Bus"
was on the original, 1968 USA LP.
The USA single (and "b" side) used the same stereo master tapes (as the album
versions), but collapsed the stereo into mono. An extended version of "Magic
Bus" appeared first on
Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy, but in simulated stereo. The hunt for
good digital versions of the stereo "Magic Bus" were exacerbated by the sloppy
tape transfers made in the early CD (1980's) days, which made the backing vocals
shrill. The short versions of "Magic Bus" run ~3:17, while the longer versions
run between ~4:29 (Meaty
Beaty Big & Bouncy) and ~4:35 (he
Who Sell Out Super Deluxe Edition Box Set). Good luck sorting all this
out!

Pinball Wizard / Dogs Part 2 - UK - March 7, 1969 Track 604027 45. Wide hole version only.
Pinball Wizard / Dogs Part 2 - USA - March 22, 1969 Decca 732465 45. Various print stiles, a blue label promo and initial copies released with a picture sleeve.
In 2015, the unedited version of "Pinball Wizard" was to be included in the <aborted> rarities set. This very has a very cool mid-section and a fantastic pinball machine sounds extended ending (which fades real quickly in the 2003 "Tommy" Deluxe Edition"). With all of the rarities still "locked" in The Who's vault - this is probably the best one.

Excerpts From Tommy - (Promo only) USA - May, 1969. Includes insert and (4) four singles: Amazing Journey / Acid Queen - Decca 734610 45, Go To The Mirror Boy / Tommy Can You Hear Me? - Decca 734611 45, Smash The Mirror / Sensation - Decca 434612, Sally Simpson / I'm Free - Decca 734613 45. <See pictures above>. This box set was sent to radio stations to help promote Tommy. Copies of this promo box have been heavily bootlegged (pirated). The easiest way to tell an official (vs. fake) is by looking at the inner grove matrix print on any of the singles. The real ones have machine stamped print and the fake ones have hand written print. There is nothing remarkable about these tracks vs. the Tommy album tracks. Sound samples can be found here.
Go To The Mirror / Sally Simpson - (Promo only) UK - July, 1969 Track Pro 2 45.
I'm Free / 1921 - (Promo only) UK - July, 1969 Track Pro 3 45.
Christmas / Overture - (Promo only) UK - July, 1969 Track Pro 4 45.
The most common question regarding these (3) three singles is what happened to "Pro 3"? Apparently, it doesn't exist (or is hiding with the High Numbers "I'm The Face" "a" side). These singles have become extremely scarce. If you are a completist, grab them when/if you see them as you might not have the opportunity again. There is nothing remarkable about these tracks vs. the Tommy album tracks. Sound samples can be found here.
I'm Free / We're Not Gonna Take It - USA - July 5, 1969 Decca 732519 45. Not released in the UK. The "b" side, "We're Not Gonna Take It" includes "See Me, Feel Me". Various print styles for both stock copies and blue labeled promo(s).
