The Who Singles Discography - Part 6
All songs written by Pete Townshend unless otherwise noted.
Pictures Of Lily / Doctor Doctor - UK - April 21, 1967 Track 604002 45. Issued in 4, 3-Prong and solid core versions. The band's first single release on the Track (Polydor) label.
Pictures Of Lily / Doctor Doctor - USA - June
24, 1967 Decca 32156 45. Various print styles, a pink label promo and a "double
a side" pink label promo.
The band recorded (2) two versions of "Pictures Of Lily" - an earlier version
with keyboards vs. the released version with John Entwistle's French Horn. While
compiling tracks for the <aborted> 2015 "rarities" set, the multi-track was
found for the earlier version and mixed to stereo. It's worth noting that the
earlier version was also used for the BBC as well.

The Last Time was written by Mick Jagger & Keith Richards in 1965.

Under My
Thumb was written by Mick Jagger & Keith Richards in 1966.
A bit of controversy surrounds the stereo release of "Under My Thumb" which
began in 1998 with the expanded Odds &
Sods CD. The lead guitar is missing. Was this due because the wrong version
was pulled or, was the lead guitar added to the mono master?
